NOT CLOSE ENOUGH
The bad pun, is you know, mandatory.
My girl and I went to see this last night.
In a sentence, this is a vindication of the talents of the movie version’s Hollywood A-listers. You are struck by the conspicuous lack of chemistry between the cast. Most of blame must lie on the (PCK) veteran Tan Kheng Hwa. Apparently she replaces  Emma Yong, who had to drop out half-way and so perhaps it is Tan’s lack of practice on display here.  But the silly in-and-out British accent was unforgivable. There were some clever bits, to do with stage use. Mostly, however, the shadow of the movie version loomed tall.
